Anybody beside me old enough to remember that song from Seals and Crofts? Ahhhh, sweet, sweet summertime. Let me just say that I love, no I mean I love the summer. Memories of - swimming, cookouts, making ice cream, going to the beach, being able to play outside until 0:darkthirty (translation: until the street lights come on), catching lightening bugs...you get the picture. There's just one tee-insy problem - it gets hot here ya'll! Now that I'm all grown up, I think being outdoors in the summer is much more enjoyable (Mr. Worthing would say bearable), if you have two things:
Moving air to counteract this
A screened in porch to keep out this
Now that summer is upon us, what better time than now to share images of a few wonderful porches! Now don't be surprised that not all of them are screened in. We'll pretend that the ones that aren't, have a ceiling fan to combat the heat and to blow away the pesky mosquitoes.
The very first porch just has to be the porch at the home of one of my favorite bloggers - Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. I truly love her porch - so, so inviting.
My heart did a pitter-patter when I saw this one on the cover of a Ballard Designs Summer Favorites catalog. Another blogger (I'm sorry that I can't remember who), found out that this is an actual porch at someone's home, not just a photo shoot set.The very first porch just has to be the porch at the home of one of my favorite bloggers - Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Let's zoom in a little closer...
This one from Southern Living blew me away. I love the cozy, intimate feeling created by the shutters, the textures and the layering of the furniture, lighting and accessories.
How about a nice, cool glass of sweet tea?
I love tongue-in-groove porch ceilings that are painted, but I like that the ceiling on this porch from Better Homes and Gardens is stained instead of painted. I love the lighting and pops of color.
I love these pillows...
Head over to Pretty Handy Girl to check out the reveal of her oh, so pretty porch. I love the soothing colors!
Here's hoping that you and yours have a place to chill out this summer!
Psssst! Make sure you come back on Friday to get all the deets about a fun bloggy party coming up!

Suzy, thanks so much for sharing my porch. I love all the porches you've featured. The one from Southern Living always makes my heart flutter. :) What a great round up! :)
