Have you been looking for the perfect gift for your furry little friend? I have the perfect idea!
Let me introduce you to my dear, sweet, lovely, talented and long time friend Nancy and her furry baby, Natalee.
Nancy had so much trouble locating reasonably priced, well made doggie fashions for her baby, that she decided to make her own. This ultimately led to the opening of Natalee's Closet. A wonderful resource for handmade, darling, top quality doggie fashions.
I recently visited with Nancy and Natelee in their workroom so that I could share some of Nancy's creations with all of you. I'll show you a little of their workroom too.
Let's don't waste any time and jump right in with some Christmas fashions. All of the outfits are available in styles for both boy and girl doggies.
Every outfit for your girl doggie comes with a free hairbow! This is the one that comes with the Christmas outfit pictured above. In case you're wondering, that red loop on the front of the bow is the elastic used to hold the bow in your baby's fur...like a very small ponytail holder.
You can order hairbows separately for $5. Here are just a few that Nancy has already made. Isn't this a cute way to display them?
Nancy has many outfits, in four different sizes, already made and available for immediate shipment!
We had fun trying several of the outfits on her "models". I felt like I was twelve years old again, playing with my Barbies! Yes, I played with Barbies until I was twelve - you can go ahead and laugh now.
This little outfit makes me think of Spring!
Nancy's attention to detail is fabulous! Every outfit is interlined (for durability and to help hold the shape) and lined with a cute coordinating fabric. We flipped the part that wraps around the neck over so you can see the fabric that this outfit is lined with. You can also see the generously sized piece of velcro that is securely sewn to the end of the flap. The velcro is attached to the flaps that wrap around the underside as well, which makes dressing and undressing your furry baby super quick and easy.
You can still let your baby strut their stuff when wearing one of these fashions. There is a "D" ring securely attached to the top of every outfit to attach a leash to. The only exception would be something like the cute Christmas outfit pictured above because the "D" ring would interfere with the specialty trim.
Do you have a favorite team that you pull for? Nancy already has several outfits made for some of the college teams and custom orders can be placed for others (as long as fabric is available).
Bama
LSU
UNC and Duke
Look closely to see a little bling on the UNC outfit!
Are you a fan of another sport? How about Nascar? Take notice of the detail on this cute outfit that any little boy (or girl!) would be proud to wear. Each letter in "Nascar" has been embroidered in a different color, cute car buttons are scattered across the bottom and covered piping has been added to the edge. The fabric, and even the trim sewn down the back, look like a victory flag.
(Oops - looks like this outfit was hanging just a little crooked.)
Nancy has such cute vignettes set up all around her workroom. It is such a fun and cheerful room to be in! This one greets you as soon as you enter the room.
Cute way to display a couple of outfits and an apron that Nancy is in the process of making for a Christmas present (shhh...don't tell!).
How about a walk on the wild side with this zebra print number. I love the pink sequin trim and bow!
This denim number with a sparkly palm tree applique is too cute!
This model is wearing an outfit made using fabric printed with Nancy's custom logo.
This outfit is lined with a pretty pink and white striped fabric. Woven labels bearing the size information and "Made in USA" are sewn to the inside of every outfit too.
Here's Miss Natalee herself sporting an outfit made with the same fabric.
Here's a picture of a cute Westie wearing an outfit similar to the one hanging beside it.
Nancy sews all of her creations on this wonderful Singer that her mother purchased the year she was born. What a treasure!
This is Nancy's work table where she's putting together the fabric and trim for the next outfit to be made.
I just love this cute pin cushion that Nancy ordered from someone on Etsy.
You can see how the velcro closures work on this outfit made with a cute pink, black and white camo fabric.
This little boy and girl are modeling outfits made from the same fabric. You can get a better idea of the difference in the way that a girl outfit would be trimmed out vs the outfit for a boy.
Clothing from Natalee's Closet is very reasonably priced - starting at just $30. To celebrate becoming a sponsor here at Worthing Court, Nancy is offering a 20% discount on all fashions through 12/31/11. The discount applies to in stock items only and does not apply to shipping charges. You can contact Nancy at nataleescloset@gmail.com for more information.
If you hurry, you can even have one custom made in time for Christmas from Nancy's vast collection of fabrics and trims that she already has on hand. If you don't find anything that you like in stock, Nancy will work with you and shop for a fabric and trim of your liking. She can make an outfit out of fabric that you ship to her. Custom embroidery is available too. Contact Nancy to find out her cutoff for Christmas delivery on custom orders.
Here's her size chart.
