Happy Tuesday everyone!
I'm slowly, but surely chipping away at the makeover of my powder room. In fact, all I have left to do is to frame and hang some artwork!
I know that lamp makeovers are everywhere, but it occurred to me that maybe you think that making over and updating a lamp means that you always have to paint or refinish the base somehow. Not true!
See this little lamp?
It's cute enough in its present state, but still very traditional looking. I'm on a mission is to get rid of some of the traditional.
By simply switching out the shade, adding some ribbon and getting rid of the Chinese medallion finial, the lamp has a new and updated look!
And if you really want to see something that will burn your eyes, take a look at the lamp that used to reside here.
Don't fret over the fact that you don't see anything to tie the navy and gold colors together.
I'll be sharing my little lamp makeover at these fine parties:

ReplyDeleteSuzy I love your lamp makeover. It really improved the look of the lamp. I really hate to say this, but I really love the little lamp in your bathroom. But I am all about traditional, no so much the modern look. Anyway, no matter my preference I can't wait to see how you do transform your lamp! I do love the lamp you just made over. The makeover made a major improvement.

ReplyDeleteGreat lamp makeover and I'm really loving the preview of fabric too.
ReplyDeleteI am really really really liking the direction you are going here and I am crazy for your colors. Love them. I am hoping to put together a series of post late in September featuring some of my favorite design/decorating blogs. Any chance you would be interested in sharing your completed powder room on beColorful that week? No pressure if it doesn't work for you. I'm a big girl and can handle a no but I like the idea of updating the traditional and I think a lot of other readers will too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this week on my Motivated Monday.
