A Fall Festival at the Beach

If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I went to the Autumn With Topsail Fall Festival this past weekend.

The weather couldn't have been more perfect!

All of the Fall festivals that I've ever attended were either local or else in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  This one was a little different.

Oh, there were the usual pottery, jewelry and craft vendors there.
Not taking anything away from any of them - all very talented artisans.

But at a Fall Festival at the beach, you also get things like these...

A fabulous mirror with a frame embellished with driftwood, conch shells, seaweed and other bits.  My picture does not do this gorgeous thing justice!
It was ginormous and it was sold.  :(

This same artisan who created the mirror frame was also a talented metal crafter.  This oyster shell chandelier was pretty cool.

These pottery candlesticks are rather unusual and reminded me of coral.

How about some brightly painted buoys?
Not your typical Fall festival fare, but very pretty!  Quite a few houses at the beach have these hanging from their deck.

I loved this mermaid made out of screen wire.

Hand carved wooden fish of all varieties.

Pelican crafted from PVC pipes.
These were pretty popular - I saw several people carrying them around.

And lastly, this masterpiece.
I think that Captain Jack Sparrow might be sorely tempted to give up the Black Pearl for this beauty.  ;o)
It was huge and could be yours for the paltry sum of $1500 - oh wait - he was running a show special - only $1200 that day.
All kidding aside - I can only imagine the hours of work that must have gone into creating this.  It was very detailed.

So, I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at what a Fall festival at the beach is like.
A little different than what I'm used to, but still just as fun and entertaining!

Hope you all have a great week!
