Chic Chateau Showhouse - Details and Inspiration #3

Well, peeps...we've finally arrived at the very last installment of the Chic Chateau Showhouse series.  :(

We've spent the last two days looking at Details and Inspiration of the Living Areas, Kitchens and Dining Rooms, and the Master Bedrooms, All Other Bedrooms and All Bathrooms.

Today we're going to finish up by looking closer at the Laundry Rooms, Mudroom, Offices and Bonus Space.

Laundry Rooms

Mudroom

House #1

The shelf running around the perimeter of the mudroom looked great filled with vintage finds and items that would be meaningful to a family.

The door that you see leaning against the wall in the above picture, has been turned into a chalkboard.  Makes a great message center.

House #2
Love the lantern filled with clothespins suspended from a vintage pulley.

Can you read what the metal plaque says?  Lost Socks

Offices

House #1

Stenciling detail on the drop cloth draperies.

I was smitten with the office desk that used a vintage sewing machine cabinet for the base.

The top was made from reclaimed barn wood.

House #2

Another clever desk created using metal pipes from a big box home improvement store and reclaimed wood for the top.

This wall includes a diy sunburst mirror and shelving created using the same materials as the desk.

Bonus Space

House #2

Love the use of shutters on this window in lieu of fabric.  Really works to draw your eye to the window on this awkwardly shaped wall.

Stacked small tables create a bookshelf feel.

Stacked wooden crates are another option for creating an inexpensive a bookcase.

Extras

All of the interior doors in House #1 were painted this charcoal gray color and had oval, brushed nickel knobs.  

Awesome wall and ceiling treatment in the foyer of House #1.

A little chair with shelves on vintage brackets containing painted clay pots sat in a nook off of the foyer in House #2.

These mirrors can be purchased for about $24 at Walmart.  They aren't very big, so stacking them on top of one another makes more of a statement.  The black frames have been pained with chalk paint.

This vignette filled an empty wall at the top of the stairs in House #2.

A ginormous urn filled with natural goodies sat on a table on the patio of House #2.

And lastly, here's another idea for affordable art.

Painted cabinet doors with large door/cabinet hardware attached.  The type of hardware that the designer used allowed one of them to become a fingertip towel holder.

That's it, folks.  My Thursdays are going to seem empty without posts about the Chic Chateau Showhouses!
